The L128 Blue Phantom Pleco is a striking freshwater catfish known for its deep blue coloration accented by lighter blue spotting and vivid orange edging on the fins. Native to the Rio Orinoco basin, this species is highly sought after for its unique appearance and active grazing behavior.


Care Requirements:

  • Tank Size: 40 gallons minimum (larger for adults)
  • Temperature: 77–84°F
  • pH: 6.0–7.5
  • Requires strong filtration, high oxygenation, and moderate to strong water flow. Provide driftwood, rocks, and caves for shelter.

Diet:
Primarily herbivorous. Feed a diet of algae wafers, spirulina-based foods, and fresh vegetables such as zucchini and cucumber. Supplement occasionally with protein foods like bloodworms or sinking carnivore pellets.


Tank Mates:
Peaceful and community-friendly. Compatible with other non-aggressive fish such as tetras, rasboras, peaceful cichlids, and other similarly sized species. May be territorial toward other plecos.
