Paradox Albino Marbled Featherfin Catfish (Synodontis eupterus)

Paradox Albino Marbled Featherfin Catfish (Synodontis eupterus)

Paradox Albino Marbled Featherfin Catfish — Synodontis eupterus

Golden marble with flowing fin elegance

The Paradox Albino Marbled Featherfin Catfish is a rare and eye-catching variation of the classic Featherfin Synodontis. Instead of the standard brown and spotted pattern, this albino morph displays a creamy ivory to soft golden body layered with subtle marbled markings. The flowing, sail-like dorsal fin — the signature feature of Synodontis eupterus — rises tall and elegant, especially in mature specimens, giving the fish a dramatic silhouette.

Native to African river systems such as the Nile basin, the Featherfin Catfish is known for its unique behavior and hardy nature. It often patrols the bottom and midwater at night, weaving through décor and even swimming upside down at times — a characteristic trait of many Synodontis species. The albino marbled variant enhances the species’ visual impact, especially under moderate lighting where the pale tones shimmer softly.

Growing to 8–10 inches, this is a substantial bottom-dweller suited for medium to large aquariums with compatible tank mates.
